Objective
My partner and I were given 1 week to create the 2020 e-Program for Cal State Monterey Bay’s Annual Responsible Business & Ethics Forum. The purpose of the e-Program is to reduce the use of printed materials, with attendees having the ability to scan a QR code to access the digital program.
About the CSUMB Ethics Forum
The CSUMB Annual Responsible Business & Ethics Forum serves as an informative debate style presentation focused on a pressing topic within the economy. The 2020 forum discussed The Gig Economy, featuring several panelists, keynote speakers, and university faculty.
The Process
Designing & Developing
My partner and I selected a Bootstrap theme that would function as a single-scrolling page to represent an online event program, designed for mobile and web browsers. We worked quickly with Cal State Monterey Bay College of Business and School of Computing and Design faculty to receive content for the program.
With the Bootstrap theme, we modified it with HTML & CSS to maintain consistent branding with event posters, and input content for the 2020 Forum. Once finished, we uploaded the website e-Program to the CSUMB server via FileZilla.
Forum attendees were able to access the program through scanning a QR Code on their mobile devices or typing the website URL into their internet browser.
You can view the final e-Program here.
Reflection
From this project I learned how to coordinate quickly and effectively between clients and developers. I utilized Bootstrap for the first time and was able to understand the value it brings when designing and developing a website in a limited timespan.
